Candidate Spotlight: Ron Robinson Running in Race for Mich. State House District 58

Ron Robinson, a current councilman on the Utica City Council and former veteran, is running for Michigan's 58th State House District.

Robinson says that as a state legislator, he would propose legislation to address energy measures, policies that affect local farmers, and infrastructure projects such as roads.

Robinson was a military police officer with the United State Marine Corps during the First Gulf War, serving from 1989 to 1993. He also cites experience as a small business owner in the fields of real estate and photography and video production. Robinson has served on the Police and Fire Pension Board since 2023 and is a member of American Legion Post 351 Utica. He is a graduate of Specs Howard School of Broadcast Arts. Robinson and his wife Janice have lived in the district for over a decade.

Robinson will face Roger Goodrich in the upcoming Republican primary on August 6.
