Three Beachgoers Attacked by Sharks in Florida

Three beachgoers were attacked by sharks on June 7, in Florida. 

The first attack took place around 1:15 pm, according to USA Today. The first victim was a 45-year-old woman who was attacked at Founders Lane in Watersound, Florida. The woman lost her left lower left arm in the critical accident. 

The second attack occurred approximately 4 miles east of the first incident at Inlet Beach. One of the second shark attack victims has been identified as 15-year-old Lulu Gribbin. Gribbin underwent surgery including a right leg amputation. 

“She may have lost her hand and her leg, but she is here, and we are truly grateful for that," Gribbin’s mother Ann Blair Gribbin wrote in a blog post

According to the U.S. News & World Report, in 2023 the United States accounted for 52% of shark attacks globally.
