Clint Moses, who currently represents District 29, is the Republican incumbent running for reelection in Assembly District 92 under this year’s new legislative maps. Moses voted for AB 900, a school voucher funding bill. Of the 64 votes for AB 900, all 64 were Republican votes, with no Republicans voting against the bill.

Rep. Moses also co-authored AB 1065, a bill prohibiting university students, groups or faculty to commit to the support of DEI. According to the Wisconsin Examiner, “AB 1065 would bar University of Wisconsin System institutions and technical colleges from requesting that students, student groups or faculty pledge ‘allegiance to’ or make a statement of support of or opposition to any ideology or movement’ as a condition for admission, recognition, funding, hiring and more. The bill specifically includes language stating the prohibition would include ‘a pledge or statement regarding diversity, equity, inclusion.’”

The Democratic candidate for Assembly District 92 is Joe Plouff. Plouff says he would fight for more funding for school districts so they don’t have to resort to referendums to get proper funding. According to his campaign website, Plouff will “fight for adequate funding for school districts so that they will not have to resort to referendums for budget shortfalls.” He criticizes the current legislature, which he says, “congratulates itself on a multi-billion dollar budget surplus while counties cut health programs, cities reduce spending on parks and streets, and school districts turn to stressed property taxpayers to fund basic education.” 

Plouff has been endorsed by the Wisconsin Education Association Council.
