Rep. Betsy Coffia Aims To Lower Costs for Michigan’s Families and Expand Worker Opportunities

With a focus on pragmatic policymaking and addressing economic challenges, State Representative Betsy Coffia, representing Michigan’s 103rd State House district, says her policy proposals would lower costs for Michigan's working families. Coffia’s plan to lower costs emphasizes key issues such as workforce development, affordable housing, healthcare accessibility, broadband expansion, and wages.

Michigan's economy, with a diverse mix of industries including auto manufacturing, agriculture, and technology, remains resilient despite challenges. Coffia says her platform is built upon her commitment to tackle these economic challenges head-on by investing in the state’s infrastructure and public education to train workers to earn more and access better jobs.

Coffia was the first Democratic woman in over 30 years to be elected to the Grand Traverse County Commission in 2018, flipping the seat of a multi-term incumbent. She was re-elected in 2020 by a wider margin.
