Mayor Daniel Mahoney Wants Lower Costs for Families and a Strong Michigan Economy
Mayor of Jackson Daniel Mahoney says he is focused on prioritizing policies that lower costs and benefit the quality of life of families and workers across Michigan by promoting growth and entrepreneurship.
Michigan’s economy, like many others, has faced significant challenges in recent years. According to the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Bureau of Economic Analysis, Michigan’s gross domestic product (GDP) stood at $547.8 billion in 2023. Against this backdrop, Mahoney says that he believes small businesses play a crucial role in driving economic growth and are the heart and soul of any thriving community.
He says his vision includes supporting working families by addressing the rising costs of living, ensuring access to affordable healthcare, and promoting policies that create pathways to economic stability.
Mahoney points to the importance of supporting small businesses, attracting new ventures, and fostering entrepreneurship to create opportunities for Jackson residents. He emphasizes that his policies would support residents, encourage entrepreneurship, and foster a thriving community for all.
Mahoney is originally from Jackson, and is a graduate of Jackson High School and Eastern Michigan University. He is running to represent Michigan's 46th State House District.
