In Michigan House Race, Janise O'Neil Robinson Pledges to Listen to Working Families, Discusses Lowering Costs

Janise O'Neil Robinson, a long-time educator and union leader, says she's on a mission to tackle the high costs facing Michigan's working families as she launches her campaign for Michigan's 28th State House District.

In her platform, she pledges to prioritize policies that lower costs, support fair wages, and provide access to affordable healthcare for all residents. Robinson says she draws from her experiences as a special education professional who has witnessed the challenges facing families in our community, and that is why she is dedicated to fighting for policies that alleviate financial burdens and create opportunities for families to thrive.

Robinson’s site says she believes that the 28th “district needs a representative who votes for working families, not against them.” Robinson cites her experience as a union leader, and says she understands “the struggles facing workers from Monroe to Woodhaven.” She also notes that workplace safety is a priority of hers.

Robinson says she thinks about her father's experience as a member of the Window Cleaners Union Local 139, and emphasizes the importance of fair wages, good benefits, and retirement security for workers. She says that she believes workers deserve the promise to retire with dignity and she speaks about her commitment to advocate for policies that support families and their future.
