Candidates George Lucas and Kevin Whiteford Running for Southwestern Michigan House Seat

George Lucas and Kevin Whiteford are running in the upcoming Republican primary for Michigan's 38th House District, vying for the attention of voters with similar platforms.

As the election draws nearer, voters in Southwestern Michigan will have the opportunity to weigh the proposals of each of the candidates. The economy continues to be a concern for Michigan residents, particularly in the areas of housing, healthcare, and education. Lucas and Whiteford have mentioned their economic priorities and how they will focus on policies that address taxes and government spending.

To create an economic environment conducive to success, Lucas says he would advocate for a different tax structure. Lucas also says he would support affordable workforce housing and work to address the concern of workers and communities.

According to his campaign website, Whiteford’s economic priorities are focused on changing Michigan’s fiscal policies. 

Lucas hails from Chicago and grew up in the midwestern town of Crete, Illinois and now lives in Harbert, in Chikaming Township. Whiteford lives and works in Southwest Michigan with his wife, three children, and five grandchildren.
