Anna Thomas Unveils Economic Vision for the Lehigh Valley and Across Pennsylvania
Anna Thomas, a lifelong resident of Bethlehem Township and former School Board member, is one of the candidates running for Pennsylvania's 137th State House District. Thomas says that she will prioritize economic policies that lower costs and help families and workers across the Lehigh Valley.
With the economy as the top priority for Pennsylvania voters, Thomas says her economic platform will create jobs by investing in infrastructure and in the state’s workforce. Thomas says that by repairing and upgrading Pennsylvania’s roads, bridges, and railways, the state will attract businesses that will in turn create good-paying jobs and help families secure a better future. To build up the Pennsylvania workforce, Thomas says she would prioritize state funding for Lehigh Valley public schools, expanding vocational training, and ensuring affordable higher education.
In terms of the tax system, Thomas says that “senior citizens and middle class families carry too much of the tax burden in Pennsylvania.” By prioritizing the needs of everyday Pennsylvanians over special interests, Thomas says her plan to lower everyday costs will also ensure a fair tax system, including policies that lower the tax burden for low- and middle-income families, close tax loopholes for the ultra-wealthy, and ensure Pennsylvanians keep more of their money.
Additionally, to further serve the interests of Pennsylvania communities, Thomas says she would also promote environmental policy, support bipartisan cooperation, and reject partisan agendas.
