Republicans Phil Collins and Ben Franklin Join Race for State Assembly
Republicans Phil Collins and Benjamin Franklin are running for State Assembly District 88, and will face off in the primary on August 13.
Ben Franklin was born and raised in Keokuk, IA. He joined the United States Air Force, where he earned the Military Outstanding Voluntary Service Medal. He graduated from Trident University. Franklin lives in De Pere, Wisconsin with his wife and two kids. He owns a business with around 200 employees throughout the state.
According to his campaign website, “providing economic stability is important to Ben and he understands a strong economy fosters a strong community.” As part of his economic plan, Franklin notes that it is “critical to promote local businesses, create job opportunities, and ensure economic strength and growth for all residents.” He also says he will focus on balancing the budget.
Franklin believes “his experiences from his youth, military service, and business leadership will greatly benefit the people of the 88th Assembly District as we move forward into a strong future.”
Collins does not appear to have a working campaign website, but has said on his Facebook page, “I won’t vote to increase the total amount that the state government spends, each year.”
